Our good friends over at HP (Hewlett-Packard), who spend around 3.5 billion dollars each year on research, have embarked on prepaid isp new marketing campaign to promote something they call Wobulation? Leaving aside any comments on whether this is a name that telephone cable catch on with consumers, it looks like a great new idea for HDTV (High Definition Television). The physicists and engineers at HP have broadband malaysia hard at work and have come up with an ingenious way to increase tm streamyx package resolution of a television display without increasing the number of pixelsor the purchase price! The Wobulation technology is patented and HP began shipping models last fall. Wobulation applies to what HP calls microdisplay with DLP technology. DLP or Digital Light Processing refers to the invention of Texas Instruments that involves up to two million broadband speed detector mirrors that move back and forth on hinges and reflect light through a color wheel.
The advantages of microdisplay with DLP are a lower cost compared to Plasma and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), no problem with screen burn in, the smoother handling of color, and a relatively wide viewing angle of 150 degrees. HP says wobulation streamyx promotion doubles the resolution without doubling the number of pixels. It also increases the vividness of the colors and improves the ability of the sets to display deeper blacks. The Wobulation technology is available on some very large models: the 50, 58, and 65 inch sets from HP. The microdisplays with DLP technology can go bigger than most LCD TVs, but dont plan on mounting them on the wall unless you broadband speed test in a castle and have a couple of engineers at your disposal. The details on the technology are rather sketchy, but it seems to involve shifting subframes of data, using a mechanism that superimposes images, that are simultaneously projected. In other words, the technology takes a frame of data, makes multiple copies of it, and then slightly shifts the image to double the resolution seen by the human eye.
How they do this without blurring the picture is completely amazing, but it seems to work very well. The end result is that resolution is greatly enhanced without the need for adding more pixels. DLP already has a higher contrast ratio than LCDs, and the added Wobulation will only improve this performance. This technology gives the current gold standard in HDTV (High Definition Television), the 1080p, or 1080 lines of resolution progressive scanned in one pass. HP is using this new idea in both front and rear projectors, and they say it can be utilized with future advances in DLP. HPs expertise in printing and imaging technology allowed them to come up with wobulation technology. Models shipping now use a 2X technology and HP is looking to ship 4X units in the future. They say that this enables the subscribe streamyx to have digital clarity, but with the analog smoothness of a movie theater. Expect to see more cool technology from HP in the near future.
